Priority 2: Ensuring the Modernization of Barns in Cattle Farming

Modernization in small-scale and family-type cattle farming operations will improve the homogenization and quality of feed used in animal nutrition, save time in animal care and feeding, increase the capacity of the operation by feeding more animals in a given time, improve the welfare of calves, heifers and breeding animals, reduce feed input costs, and support breeders in vulnerable groups to engage in more sustainable and high value-added livestock farming.

ABOUT THE PROJECT >

The Rural Disadvantaged Areas Development Project (RDAKP) is implemented by the General Directorate of Agricultural Reform of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, with external funding from the International Fund for Agricultural Development and contributions from the Republic of Turkey, in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme, in the provinces of Adana, Mersin, Osmaniye, Kahramanmaraş, Kastamonu, Bartın, Sinop, Çankırı, Afyonkarahisar, Karabük, Kayseri and Kütahya .
